Audio Content & Transcripts

When you record audio using the App (e.g., a meeting or voice note), the audio and its transcription are considered personal data if they contain identifiable information. We process this content solely to provide transcription and summaries.

2. Data We Collect Automatically

Usage and Device Information

We collect non-identifying data to help improve the App, including:

  • Device type (e.g., phone model, OS version)
  • Usage metrics (e.g., number of summaries generated)
  • Timestamps and frequency of use
  • Crash or error logs

We do not collect:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, phone number)
  • Precise location data

We may receive your IP address for networking purposes but anonymize or aggregate this information.

Analytics Data

These tools may use app instance IDs or random user IDs, but are configured not to collect personal identities. We anonymize IPs and only use aggregated analytics for app improvement.

3. Data from In-App Purchases

If you subscribe to premium features:

  • Purchases are processed by Apple or Google
  • We receive confirmation of purchase and type (not credit card info)
  • We store a token or flag to indicate premium entitlement

4. Data for Advertising and Marketing

Ad Data

Ads may be shown via platforms like Google AdMob, which collect:

  • Advertising identifiers (Google Ad ID or Apple IDFA)
  • IP address
  • General usage and ad interaction data

With your consent, ads can be personalized. If not, only contextual ads are shown. We do not share your personal data with advertisers for their use.

User Acquisition Data

We use Apple Search Ads and Google Ads to promote the App. Only aggregated campaign data is received (e.g., number of installs), not personal information.

Summary for California Residents (CCPA)

Collected categories:

  • Identifiers (e.g., device ID, IP)
  • Internet/network activity (usage, crash logs)
  • Audio/electronic info (recordings)

We do not collect:

How We Use Personal Data

Providing the Service

We use audio content and transcripts solely to:

  • Transcribe your recordings
  • Generate summaries

Data is sent to our secure servers and OpenAI strictly for processing and is returned to you. This is necessary to fulfill your request.

Temporary Storage & Deletion

  • Audio and transcripts are stored temporarily (up to 24 hours) for processing and delivery.
  • They are automatically deleted after processing is complete.
  • We do not use the content for any other purpose.

Improving & Maintaining the Service

We use aggregated analytics and device data to:

  • Understand how the App performs
  • Identify bugs
  • Improve functionality and UX
  • Guide feature development

This is done under our legitimate interest, without identifying you personally.

Payments

Payments are handled by:

  • Apple (iOS)
  • Google (Android)

We receive:

  • Confirmation of purchase
  • Product type
  • Subscription duration

No financial data (like card details) is collected by us.

Communications

If you email us for support:

  • AWS: Secure temporary data hosting (no access to your data).
  • Analytics (Google Analytics, PostHog): Usage data, under strict purpose limitations.
  • Google AdMob: Ad display using device/usage data (with your consent if personalized).

> All processors are contractually bound to use your data only for our specified purposes and protect it under data protection agreements.

  • Affiliated Entities

If our company merges or is acquired, data may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy commitments.

  • Legal Compliance

We may share data to comply with legal obligations or protect users, e.g.:

  • Law enforcement with valid authority
  • Preventing fraud or harm

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for its intended purpose:

  • Audio & Transcripts

Deleted within 24 hours after processing (often immediately).

> Summaries remain only on your device until you delete them.

  • Analytics Logs

Kept for up to 6–12 months in aggregate form. Older data is deleted or anonymized.

  • Purchase Records

Retained as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after (e.g., for tax/audit purposes).

  • Support Emails

Retained for 6–12 months for follow-up context.

> You can request earlier deletion unless legally required to keep.

> Since audio content is deleted quickly, contact us immediately if you want early deletion. After 24 hours, we usually no longer hold any recordings.

Data Security

  • Audio/text is securely transmitted to our servers/OpenAI
  • Storage uses encryption at rest
  • Access Control
  • Data access is limited to authorized personnel
